Tuscan Cooking in
a Florentine Kitchen

Tuscan Food is not elaborate. It is simple. The key is in its exquisitely fresh and seasonal ingredients. If you are not familiar with Tuscan cuisine you're sure to be in for a pleasant surprise. Whether your first Tuscan culinary experience is in a country trattoria or a fine restaurant, your taste buds will surely bounce with joy! You'll probably be asking yourself, How can I savour these tastes? How can I recreate them in my kitchen?

Well, my friend, ask no more! For those of you who love to cook and those of you who love to eat, the time has come to spend a morning in an intimate Florentine kitchen learning the secrets of this genuine Mediterranean cuisine. Cooking together in the relaxed atmosphere of a private home with Brunelleschi's dome as a back drop only adds magic to this unique culinary experience.

These personalized hands-on cooking lessons, in English, offer participants the opportunity to enter a local's home and cook in a Florentine kitchen. Picking fresh herbs from the rooftop garden to toss into the pot, chatting about food, wine, olive oil and cooking secrets is just a bit of what this experience is all about. With a minimum of two students and a maximum of four, each lesson offers a family style intimacy.

Together with the instructor, participants prepare an authentic four course meal (see the seven menus to choose from), before sitting down to enjoy each and every savory dish while indulging in Tuscan wines and lively conversation.  Sure to be a memorable culinary experience. Participants can choose to either dine outdoors, on the panoramic rooftop terrace amidst flowers  and potted herbs, gazing out at the world's most renown Renaissance city,  or inside in the formal dining room which shares the same vast view of Florence

*If anyone in the traveling party would like to enjoy the meal but not sign up for the lesson itself, then he/she may simply sign up as a dining guest and arrive in time to sit down with us and enjoy the feast.

Click on the 7 menus  for ideas and choices. Each menu has a tris (three) antipasti, one first course, one second course and a side dish.  Tuscan bread, wine* and fruit or dessert is also included.  Each participant will be given a souvenir apron, along with the recipes prepared.  Participants and guests will have the opportunity to purchase the instructor's book: Tuscan Life - Food Tales & Recipes by Cindy Harding Nannarelli. The book is also available through:
